This is the most friendly bar I've ever been to! Debbie, the owner, sat down next to me. She was so sweet and down to earth. Her bar is a perfect little spot to have beer and eat an amazing sandwich. The bartender was so sweet. Love this place. If you're looking for good food, good prices in alcohol....this is it!

So I have previously reviewed the bar only here & while the experience was not the best, we decided to go back to try what has been called by some as "the best beef sandwich around ". Well they were not lying. The beef sammies were fantastic. They still do allow(?) smoking in the bar so be aware before you go. Were the beef sammies worth overcoming the smell? Definitely. The chef even came out of the kitchen & talked to us. (Y es, he is a real chef, said he went to culinary school) Would give 5 stars if not for the smoke.

The place looks like a dive from the outside and if you happen to find it, the first thinks you notice when you park in the few parking spots they have is the piss stained pink curtains in the window. When you get inside the place it reminds me of an old school diner with booths and a long bar. Other reviewers complained about the smoke, get over it, the beef sandwich that you receive will make you forget about any second hand smoke you are about to receive. The cook takes pride in his craft and when the pleasant waitress sets that masterpiece of a sliced beef sangwich smothered in mozz next to that dirty ashtray, you cant help but stare at it for a min. Bottom line I will go back again and again for the best beef in the world and if I die from smoke inhalation the sammy would be a perfect last meal.

Okay. I worked in Chicago for 20 years, lived off the best Italian Beef in the world... But Lake Dale Ale would give them all a run for their money!! Really fantastically good!!!
